BlackArgus Focus is desktop software designed to protect YouTube channels and their communities. It monitors comment sections, checks posts for patterns of fraud and deception, and can automatically hide detected scam comments. This helps creators protect their viewers from fraudulent offers, preserve their brand reputation, and reduce time spent on manual moderation.

Detection goes beyond simple keyword filters. BlackArgus Focus combines detection rules with a statistical model to identify both obvious scam attempts and subtly worded approaches. Creators decide when the software should only monitor comments and when it may take automated action.

Detecting Scam Funnels and Subtle Patterns of Deception

Fraudulent comments do not always contain a suspicious link or an explicit offer from the outset. Some begin with a seemingly personal recommendation, a success story, or a casual offer of help. Their aim is to build trust and gradually lead viewers toward external contact channels or fraudulent offers.

BlackArgus Focus examines comments for signs of these scam funnels. Its analysis also considers subtle role-based patterns: commenters may pose as satisfied customers, independent supporters, helpful experts, or representatives of the creator. This allows suspicious posts to be assessed even when they rely on social proof or false authority rather than typical scam keywords.

Capabilities and Features

• Channel-wide comment monitoring: Focus checks published comments across the videos of a connected YouTube channel. New comments on older videos can therefore also be included in moderation.

• Multi-stage scam detection: Rules and statistical analysis examine comments for suspicious offers, requests to make contact, scam funnels, and deceptive language patterns. Disguised spellings and character variations are also considered.

• Potential impersonation detection: Focus examines signs that commenters are imitating a creator’s name or profile picture. Suspicious accounts and their associated comments are brought together for further review.

• Automatic hiding: Once explicitly enabled, Focus can automatically hide comments classified as fraudulent. Automatic moderation can be controlled separately for individual channels.

• Observation mode: Creators can first see which comments the software flags as suspicious without making any changes to their channel.

• Manual review of uncertain cases: Comments that cannot be clearly classified are presented for review. The user decides whether a comment should remain visible or be hidden.

• Explainable assessments: Classifications and explanations make moderation decisions reviewable. Filters help users find specific comments, authors, and assessment results.

• Managing and reversing comment hiding: Moderation actions can be tracked. Supported hiding actions can be reversed within the available reversal period, subject to platform capabilities and the data still available.

• Dashboard and analytics: Overviews show reviewed comments, suspicious posts, pending decisions, and moderation activity over time. The operational status of connected channels also remains visible.

• Optional additional AI assessment: An additional local AI model or a supported external AI service can be configured for supplementary assessments. This feature is disabled by default.

  Local Processing and Creator Control

  Standard analysis and regular working data are processed locally on the user’s computer. Focus communicates with YouTube to retrieve comments and perform moderation actions. Enabling optional external AI services involves additional data transfers to the configured services.
